The Lodge

All year round self catering accommodation - Sleeps 4.

Attached to our home, this substantial self contained wing, with private entrance, offers the following comfortable and well equipped accommodation:

Kitchen  recently refurbished with built in cupboards, dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven/hob, microwave, toaster, iron etc.  Tea towels are provided for your use.

Living/Dining Room  A spacious room with cast iron spiral staircase and Victorian columns, which provide a natural divide to the accommodation.

TV (freeview) DVD  and CD cassette player, board games and books are supplied for your use. There is also a selection of CDs and DVDs.

A French door leads to a private courtyard garden.

Bathroom (Located upstairs) White suite with electric shower over bath.  Exposed wooden beams (full ceiling height), shaver point.  (Towels provided including Beach Towels)

Bedrooms  One Double bedroom, with small balcony, built in wardrobe.

Bed Linen (duvets) and hairdryer included for your use.

Travel cot is available on request but please bring your own cot linen.

One spacious Twin Bedroom - L shaped, with vaulted ceiling.

Parking  Off road parking for several cars within the grounds. 

For your convenience a breakfast starter pack comprising of cereals. eggs, bread, butter, milk, orange juice, jams and tea and coffee is provided with our compliments.  A bottle of wine is also provided.

For insurance purposes we operate a strict non-smoking policy within this establishment.  We regret we are unable to accommodate pets.

Please Note: Our spiral staircase may not be suitable for toddlers, the elderly or infirm.

Price Band Per Week - (normally Saturday to Saturday)

Low Season - 2 January to end March and beg November to 18 December    £250.00

Mid Season - Apr to June and 0ctober  £320.00

High Season - July and August and 21 December to 2 January (Xmas & NewYear)        £380.00

Please Note: A deposit of £25 per person will be required at the time of booking and the balance due 4 weeks before arrival.

Local activities include:

Within the village we have horse riding, extremely good fishing, Country Club with indoor bowls. The village also has a tennis court and football pitch available for hire.  There is a Shop with off license, Post Office, Garage and Church.  The Fox and Hounds Public House serves excellent food at reasonable prices and is only a stone's throw away! They have recently introduced a take away menu, leaflet available in the cottage.

Sparham Pools Nature Reserve 100 metres away provides excellent bird watching.  There are several golf courses nearby.  Lyng is within easy reach of National Trust and other Stately Homes.  The beautiful city of Norwich has excellent shopping facilities; Restaurants, Cathedral, Museum and Castle and is only 13 miles away. The bustling market town of Dereham is only 6 miles away.

How to find us:

From Fakenham take the A1067 towards Norwich.  After approximately 12 miles turn right signposted Lyng.  On entering the village turn right after the bridge into Port Row.  The Old School can be seen on the left.

From Dereham take the A47 towards Norwich.  Take North Tuddenham exit and you will see Lyng signposted in front of you.  On entering the village at T junction turn right past the pub on the left and round left bend.  Take immediate left turn into Port Row.  The Old School can be found at the end of the lane on the right hand side.
